So I have spent the last weekend moving all my crap to my new place. I'm about 95% done moving everything over. After all of this I really have to say that I loathe moving. I like it once it's all over but hauling crap to and from a place just sucks for the most part. Plus on top of that I am moving from a apartment on the second floor to a apartment on the second floor. Luckily I had a friend helping me move my big items like the bed and furniture. I found out that having a person help you move really makes a huge difference. Plus he has a truck and I have a Honda Civic. For moving things the truck is definitely superior to the car. I also just got the internet up and running at the new place. It was supposed to be going on Friday but apparently there was some sort of problem and it wasn't working. The weekend felt like the dark ages for me. Life without the internet is just so strange. I believe the internet is the second most important utility at this point.
So since my life this weekend has been moving I haven't really played very many games. I went over to a friend's house on Saturday at he was playing some
Metal Gear Solid 4
. I haven't played that game in quite a while and I didn't really forget that the game was super amazing but it sure did remind me. Later that evening we played some
Super Street Fighter 4 which was great. I think I need to play that game more to hone my skills. My Ibuki feels rather weak at the moment and that needs to change. Seems like the best thing to do would be to go online and get beat down for a while. That should get me back into the swing of things. More about moving after the break.
Since I have been moving so much recently I have found my sleep schedule to be completely off recently. I usually sleep from about 7:00am to 2:00pm since I work in the middle of the night. But since I have been moving it's been more of a normal persons sleep schedule (sleeping when it is dark). In my new place there are boxes all over, the only things I have really set up are the TV, PS3, and my bed. Granted on Sunday night I put on
Azumanga Daioh
to unwind after moving (which is why the TV and PS3 are set up). I started up the first DVD and watched the first episode. I remember a little bit of the second episode but then the next thing I know the DVD is on the menu. I feel asleep on my chair watching the show which is something that I don't really do, I must have been really tired.
My mini dachshund is moved over now as well. She is dealing with all this pretty well but I think she is stressed over it all. She went from a apartment with 2 people and a cat to just having me around. I think she kinda knew something was up for a while but I think it was kinda hard on her on Sunday. We were moving everything out of the apartment and I think that she thought her world was collapsing. So I've been trying to be around her a lot since I think she needs it (though when I am at work I can't be around her). Tonight was her first night alone at the new apartment by herself. I need to start setting up all my stuff soon to make it look like I actually live there.
I played a little bit of
Metal Gear Solid 4
Monday morning while waiting for the internet man to show up so I could get back online. I hate it when you have to get something fixed or set up since they always seems to give you a stupid window of time. He did show up between 9:30am and 2:00pm but that is quite the window considering that people have lives and jobs to do. I mean it's a good thing that I work in a job that happens in the middle of the night since I will be there when they show up. But it makes me wonder how a person with a normal 9 to 5 job can be there. They really need to actually make a normal window of time to show up instead of a 4 hour window.
The Metal Gear Solid series is just fantastic. The fourth game of the series is by far the best (it also answers most of the questions from the series).
Metal Gear Solid
was so amazing when it came out for the PlayStation. Graphically the game looked very good for the time that it came out and it was one of the first Dual Shock supported games. Some of the best vibrations effects are from the Metal Gear Solid games. All of the games look fantastic (I'm convinced that Kojima knows how to use the PlayStation hardware better than anyone). All of the games have their own charms and I like all of them. But I think I'm gonna play more
Metal Gear Solid 4
here in the near future.
I was playing Solitaire at work to pass the time and I had this bug happen (see the image above). I have no clue how there were 2 ace of clubs but it kinda screwed me over in that game. I just wanted to share that with the world. With that I think I'm gonna wrap up this blog post. More to come in the future!
