Done moving and game stuff

I have officially moved all my stuff out of my old apartment and I no longer have keys for that place. My move is now complete but the real work starts now. I have to work on organizing my new living space will all my stuff. This will be no small task but I think I am up for it. I have the internet now which I had talked about in the previous blog post. I haven't hooked up my Xbox or my PS3 to the internet yet which I need to rectify. It would be nice to be able to play Demon's Souls online and watch Netflix again. I've also missed playing Halo Reach online and just playing games with my friends in general.

So Call of Duty: Black Ops has come out as of yesterday and I kinda have some mixed feelings regarding the game. Part of me wants to get it and part of me does not. The part of me that wants to get it likes Call of Duty and wants to play it with my friends (which I know most of picked it up). The part of me that doesn't want to get it is saying "Don't support the evil actions of Activision!" That part of me is angry at Activision for what happened regarding Infinity Ward. It makes me not want to support them in any way. But I do like playing games with my friends. I don't know which one I will give in to as of yet, I guess only time will tell. Also I don't have too much money to spend on stuff like that. More after the break.

I have been considering checking out the Undead Nightmare stuff for Red Dead Redemption since it is only 800 Microsoft points ($10.00 real money). It apparently adds a whole new single player story and multi-player modes. Basically what they did was take the Red Dead Redemption world and put zombies in it. I have heard a few interesting things about it and I do love Red Dead Redemption. I was listening to a podcast where the hosts were talking about it saying things about zombie bears and horses. They also said that there is a quest where you go after a sasquatch and that interests me. It seems like a fairly good deal considering there is quite a bit of content (at least that is what I have heard).

Once I get my Xbox hooked back up I think I'm gonna get back into Super Meat Boy. That game is really relentless in regards to its difficulty. It's a super hard platformer but when you get through levels you really feel a sense of accomplishment. Also after every level there is a replay of all your lives that you have spent trying to finish the level. It is really cool to watch all of your playthroughs of a level simultaneously. There are also warp zones in the game where the graphics change into a 8-bit style, pretty cool stuff in my opinion.

I think I'm gonna start doing some programming once my apartment is all put together. Gonna go back to C++ since I kinda think it's bullshit what Microsoft has done with the XNA stuff. It's now called the App Hub and it's mostly for the Windows 7 phone platform and not for the Xbox 360 as much. C# is a neat language and there is a lot I like about it but I really am starting to think that it will be much more beneficial for me to go back to learning C++ and making a game with that language. Considering I have more resources for that language and know more people who can help if I have questions regarding that language. I think moving into this new place will have a positive effect on learning this stuff. I'm gonna put my computer facing away from my TV so I'm not temped to watch and program at the same time.

I've been thinking quite a bit about Metal Gear in general for the last few days. I would like to go back and play through all the Metal Gear Solid games (maybe the first 2 Metal Gear games as well). It would be nice to go back and experience the stories of those games. They are all way over the top and amazing because of that. You just can't take them all too seriously in regards to story because they are all way out there. I think some of my favorite things in those games are the fourth wall breaking scenes. Where Psycho Mantis talks to you and not to Snake. I think one of my favorite parts of any of those games is in Metal Gear Solid 3. You are in a prison and some vampire talk happens. If you save and reload the save Snake has a nightmare where you are playing a completely different game that is amazing! Check it out if you haven't seen it because that mini game is a blast to play.

I think I'm gonna wrap up this post now. I will post more in the near future and hopefully today I will be able to play some games or at least set up some of my consoles.
