Thoughts on random stuff and life

Since I haven't written in a while I figured I would just kinda write whatever. The image above has nothing to do with any of this blog post but that's OK! I'll start out with what games I have been playing recently. The first of these games that I'm going to talk about is Super Street Fighter 4. I have been playing this one quite a bit recently and it has been fun for the most part. I do wish I was better at expecting attacks and countering them but maybe someday I will learn to do better. I still think that it is easily one of the best fighting games. I have been spending my Sundays meeting up with some friends and just playing that game most of the night which has been a blast!

Another game that I have played and finished fairly recently but haven't written about is a game called Dead Space 2. I am a huge fan of the first game and the sequel just does everything better. I really like it when they base a horror game or movie in space. I think it all started with watching the Alien movies when I was younger. I just really like watching people deal with a really bad situation in the middle of space. Another good movie in that setting is Event Horizon. Anyway, in Dead Space 2 you play as a engineer named Isaac Clarke who was also who you were in the first game. Basically he went to a ship called the Ishimura in the first game because the Ishimura lost communication and he went with a team to fix it. He decided to do this because his girlfriend was a medical officer on the ship. But once he got there basically everyone was dead and the ship was full of necromorphs. Click on the break to read more.

Necromorphs are basically corpses that are reanimated by a alien DNA. Anyway a ton of stuff happens in the first game and you find out that Isaac's girlfriend has been dead even though he has been seeing her throughout the ship. This was happening due to a artifact called the marker (the necromorphs are also caused by the marker). Isaac eventually defeats the necromorphs and destroys the marker. That's where the first game ends. The second game begins three years later in The Sprawl (which is a space station built around what remains of Saturn's moon called Titan). Isaac is locked up in a cell because he is basically crazy. He still has visions of his dead girlfriend and he had to deal with seeing things nobody should have (necromorphs are fairly hideous). Someone helps you escape and that's where the game starts. The whole game is really amazing and it is something that you should check out if you like horror games.

I've also been playing some multi-player Call of Duty: Black Ops since the new maps came out. I think I really like that game in regards to multi-player (I haven't played enough of the single player campaign to judge that part of the game). The new maps are pretty darn good! They are mid to large sized which is what I prefer. If the maps in that game are too small enemies start spawning right behind you which gets very irritating very quickly. I like to play the game so that 95% of the time I am not visible on radar. This means I use a silenced weapon with the perks Ghost Pro, Hacker Pro, and Slight of Hand Pro. The silenced weapons make it so when you shoot you don't appear as a red dot on the radar map. Ghost makes it so you don't appear on the map when a spy plane is out (spy planes make it so everyone that isn't using ghost appears as a little red dot on the map). The Pro part of Ghost makes it so helicopters can't target you. Hacker makes it so you can see equipment like claymores, the Pro part is the important part and it makes you invisible to motion detectors. Finally Slight of Hand Pro just makes it so you reload faster and look down your sights faster. So basically I like being sneaky.

When I haven't been playing video games I have been watching quite a bit of Married With Children on Netflix. I really like that show! It had been years since I have watched it and it is funnier now than it has ever been to me. Every time Al realizes that his life is horrible and just puts his head in his hands while saying "Oh God!" just cracks me up every time. I just think all the characters are great on that show. The only gripe that I have with this version (the DVD release) is that they couldn't get the rights to the song "Love and Marriage" and instead have a kinda cheesy theme song now. It's just kinda disorienting to not hear that song during the title of the show. It doesn't ruin the show by any means it just feels kinda off.

When I took my weight today it was at 205 pounds and that means that my weight has stayed about the same for the last week. This is not a bad thing by any means and I am ecstatic that I have lost about 50 pounds since my separationdrastically is soda, it is more of a treat now than a daily thing.

With my birthday coming up I do wonder what the last 10 days of being 28 will be like. I am assuming that nothing too exciting will happen but you never really know. I am also wondering what is in store for my 29th year on this world. Life likes to throw curve-balls sometimes especially when you don't expect it. I've been trying to stay positive but it has been tough. Even though it can be hard I'm gonna persevere with the positivity! Negativity does not pay at all in life I have noticed. If you look at everything with negativity nothing good will really happen since you are only noticing the negative parts of life. I figure if I keep going with the positivity something good will eventually happen. I just have to remember to keep up a good attitude and just take everything one day at a time. I need to not worry so much about schedules and planning. I have a tenancy for that kind of stuff to stress me out and I don't think it should. Maybe learning to be more sporadic is a good thing.

I think I should think of a resolution for my new year. I think I'm gonna start making resolutions on my birthday rather than the new year since it is a more personal day. Plus the traditional new year of January 1st isn't really MY new year is it? I think that's about all I have in my for one blog post but if you decided to read it all I salute you!
